Hanan, I used the settings posted elsewhere on this site as starting points. I have a 50″ 1080p screen as my front view, and two 32″ 1080p screens (different brands) for the side views:
Left:
65 FOV
-90 Lateral
-10.5 Vertical
-1 Roll
Center:109 FOV
0 Lateral
8 Vertical
0 Roll
Right:52 FOV
90 Lateral
-5.5 Vertical
-2 RollI then played with the vertical adjustment of the front view until the view was where I wanted it (something like 8 vertical), and then played with the side vertical numbers until the horizon matched the front. The best suggestion I can make is just input a number, and see what happens to the horizon.
Then I played with the roll settings. I found the effect of these weren’t as apparent as the vertical settings, but became more important as I rolled the aircraft. If I got them wrong, the horizons would get all hosed up when I rolled.
Your settings will be specific for you.

Thanks! Just to confirm, you set this for 5V and it handles as many devices as you plug into it?

That’s a rough web site. Hard to tell exactly what they’re selling and once I finally figured it out, I had no idea how much they are charging.

Can anyone tell me what the Saitek Pro Cessna Yoke retail price. I see it selling on Ebay for 1200 dollars. I thought the retail was 200-250 brand new.?
<input type=”hidden” value=”1886″ /><span class=”vortex-p-like-counter 1886″>0</span>Wanccie, Saitek prices are way outta wack on some sites. Amazon has the yoke/throttle combo for just over $200.

If I were to spring (pun intended) for a new yoke, I’d get the Yoko. For now, though, I’ll stick with my modded Saitek (modded to take away the dead zone and center position detent).

I recall the trials and tribulations of the Iris yoke’s development. IIRC, the price is almost 4X what it was when they first publicized their product on Kickstarter, and after spending close to $1,000, you still need to spend another $250 for a yoke handle.
I get how important the yoke is to the overall realism of a flight sim, but $1,250 is a LOT of money.

Sweet, yes. Good price? That’s a relative term, even if you already have an iPad.
If one doesn’t have an iPad, prices on touch-screen LED panels have come WAY down in the last couple years. For just over $200, you can get a 22″ touch screen monitor (see image) and can run Air Manager in its touch-screen input mode. If you’re worried about running another application on your PC/Mac, and having it affect your frame rate, you can spend another $100 on a stick computer for the touch-screen monitor, and network it with your main PC/Mac.
a 22″ 16×9 monitor is big enough to run pretty much every instrument on an analog C172’s panel except the radio stack. For this, I’m using RemoteFlight on my iPad Air, but if I didn’t have an iPad, could run another (smaller) touch-screen LED just for the radios/comm from Air Manager.
Don’t get me wrong, I would LOVE the tactile feel and realism of turning actual knobs and switches, but that comes at a fairly high cost, IMO.
The objective I’ve had in mind as it pertains to instrument operation, is I’d like to eliminate using a mouse as much as possible, as I feel this detracts more from the realism of the sim than almost any other PC hardware or software compromise we face.

I’ll echo 538TM’s comments. Any .png editor can change the gauge color to anything you desire. I use PhotoShop for one of my jobs, so it’s available to me, but there are a number of cheap/free options.

I agree with Matthew. The GT5500 is the one I would consider. I thought about the LG unit, and it was on sale at Fry’s for something like $750 a few weeks back, but the comparitively low lumens output scared me away.
