  • I’m about 95% finished with my basement sim, and I can’t seem to get that other 5% because I would rather fly it than work on it.  Several have come in to look at it and fly it a little, and some wonder where I bought it and how I was able to get it in the basement!  When I tell them I built it from plans found on this website, they’re s…[Read more]

  • Been busy getting the sim built, and haven’t installed the switch for the panel yet. I did find that if I turn on the BAT first, then the ALT, they both come on fine in the XP default 172. I did try the cross-tie for the avionics, but that didn’t seem to turn on both bus 1 and bus 2, but I doubt I’ll use that much since most of my avionics are on…[Read more]

Yup, that’s what I am seeing.  With 3 TV’s and a few plugins I am getting 28-32, but it seems smooth enough for now.

    Thanks.

  • Perfect, thanks so much!  That’s what I’ve had to do – flip them in the cockpit.  I also have a C210, and the ALT and BAT work for that normally.

I’m just starting (today, in fact) on laying out and screwing together the lumber for my home sim.  Looks like it’s going to be a long haul.  I’m retired (and tired), so I’m slow but having a bal…[Read more]

  • I am building a basement sim based on the plans that BFG has posted, plus scouring the web for other ideas and information (thanks!).  I recently bought a Cessna switch panel from DesktopAviator.com which seems to be very well built, but I am having trouble configuring 3 of the switches: Alt, Bat and Avionics.  I am using the default C172 in X…[Read more]

  • Hi Corey,

I have been following your sim build, and bought a 55″ Sceptre as well.  I am driving it with an iBuyPower with an i7 7700, 16gb RAM and a GTX 1080, so I should have plenty of horsepower.  Running X-plane on a regular monitor I get between 95-105 fps, but when I connect the Sceptre TV, it drops to the mid 40s and seems a little j…[Read more]
