Sure. I used these (or something very similar to them): https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-Strong-Tie-ZMAX-18-Gauge-Galvanized-Steel-Angle-A21Z/100375047

I honestly had no problem with wobbles for mine, especially with the panel installed. Did you follow my schematics? I also used steel strong-ties at nearly every corner …

I actually turned down the responsiveness in the control settings on my XP install to 50% because the 172 and Pipers were too unstable. When you let go of a yoke in a trimmed Cherokee (or 172 for that matter) she stays where she is and keeps flying pretty stable. The sim, I found, was wandering far too quickly and too much. The real airplane is very responsive – when you move the yoke she moves right away – but certainly not twitchy.

I just built a small brace behind the panel. A piece of 2×2 the same height as the panel, screwed into the panel from below. Then I screwed a scrap piece of MDF from the panel that’s a few inches wide by a few inches longer into the 2×2 from above, so it looks like a T. Then I put a long piece of cardboard about four or five inches wide along that, which runs the length of most of the shield and can curve with it (which MDF can’t do). This is plenty strong for me to put a cup of coffee on the shield if I like …

As for the foam, I got it at the fabric store. It’s green and an inch thick and is high density.

It’s not enough to save it. You also need to “Export Scenery Pack” for the changes to take place in the sim … it’s on the File menu (I think) …

Open the plane in PlaneMaker and you can change the callsign in the “Author” menu if I recall correctly …

Thanks so much. I’ve done most of that, save the changes to the Developer SteamVR menu. I’ll try that, along with a deletion of my prefs, and report back.

Do you mean the screen itself? I just bought one off the shelf from the local computer store. I have no idea what the brand is, and it’s nothing special. If the colors look better its probably because of how I have set up the projector, not the particular screen. If I were using a black pearl screen that would be different, but I’m not.

That and all the equipment in the sim are listed on the “What’s In The Sim” tab at the top of the page. It’s an Optoma EH320UST. It’s still very expensive (perhaps more so than when I bought it). I’m very close to moving to a large screen TV as the prices on those come down.

Hey, Jeff – I know it’s been several months, but how was the flight?
