  1. Hi Tom.

Just like to say your new PFD display is terrific. If anyone out there is hesitating in getting this gauge…don’t, just get it, you won’t be regret it!. Roll on the HSI. 🙂

    1. Actually, the Saitek FIP is nearly exactly the same screen size as the real-world Garmin G5 unit that Tom is trying to replicate. Whether folks want a personal flight display that size is its own thing, but for what it’s worth I found the gauge very easy to read and use in the sim.

  2. Hey OTG,

I’ve checked out the g5 on fsx times and it says it’s only for fsx/p3d… but I’ve also seen you using it in x plane and I was wondering if there is some sort of trick or if it will just work.

    Cheers,
    Ryan

    1. I’m not using the G5 – I’m using one of the other virtual artificial horizons. Not sure if it’s Tom’s or not but it works fine. Just don’t recall the maker. Regardless, I find that many of Tom’s gauges work with X-Plane if you’re running SPAD.neXt X-Plane edition.

      1. Hi, so to rephrase – what you mean is, if you have SPAD.neXt X-plane edition it allows you to use Tom’s Generic G5 PFD on X-plane on Saitek FIP, even though its theoreticlly designed for FSX/P3D only?

          1. That is truly great news! And how is the frame rate or fps of the FIP screen doing when displaying the PFD? Does it run smoothly or are there any delays? Do you happen to have a video of the FIP PFD in action? I went through your videos on youtube, which are great BTW, but haven’t found anything related to this specific gauge.

  3. OK, Stupid question. I own a Piper Comanche and we just installed a Garmin G5. I’d like to use this PFG on X-plane to practice with. Can I do that with Spad.Next? Do i need to buy the Saitek Pro Flight instrument panel hardware, or can I just display this on a screen?
