  1. Yep. Another Piper was flying the pattern at the same time as me and had been about one to two legs in front of us. As I was on the downwind I was looking for him behind me, and then heard him call his base turn (!). He had not called his downwind. I looked up and to the right and there he was about to cross in front of us. He had turned a very wide downwind and we’d caught him on the inside (more surprising as I think he was a Dakota). I made an evasive turn to the right and flew the extended downwind / base you see on the map. It wasn’t hair-raising close but it was close enough. He went full stop after that. Maybe it shook him up. I sort of hope it did.
